How Strenuous is The Tour?
There is very little, if any, strenuous hiking on our tour for the average person. There are no difficult climbs nor excessively long walks. The visit to the Fetterman Battlefield will require the most walking, but it is mostly on level ground.
Why Not Visit These Crazy Horse Sites on My Own?
We will be going and taking you to many spots that most people don’t even know about. It’s also easier on you since you don’t have to rent a car or make your own hotel reservations. We also will provide you with experts and historians on you tour to add to your Crazy Horse experience. You will also be visiting these Crazy Horse historical sites with people just like you, allowing you the opportunity to make friends with people who share your interest in Crazy Horse and Indian Wars history.
Will I Need to Book My Own Airfare?
Yes, you will need to book your own transportation to join the tour. Please Note: the tour begins in Billings, Montana, on July 24, 2016 and ends in Rapid City, South Dakota, on July 28th. Crazy Horse Tours provides your hotel accommodations, most meals (Lunch & Dinner – see tour page for what meals are covered), and your transportation throughout the tour, along with historical site entrance fees.
If you would like to book your travel arrangements so that your arrival and departure are both out of Billings, Crazy Horse Tours will provide you with transportation back to Billings from Rapid City on July 29th at no additional charge, if you need it. Bus will arrive in Billings on July 29th at approximately 3pm, so book accordingly. If you have questions or concerns, please contact us.
Notes about arrival & departure times: The Dinner/Reception on the tour’s first night (July 24th in Billings) will begin at 7pm. There is shuttle service from the airport to the hotel. If flying, we would recommend getting into Billings no later than 5pm on that day.
If you plan to depart back out of Billings, MT, at the conclusion of the tour on July 29th, we will arrive in Billings approx. 3pm. We would recommend booking flights out no earlier than 5pm, just in case.
Will I Need to Pay for Food?
Catered evening meals will be provided for you by Crazy Horse Tours (with the exception being on Tuesday, July 26, when we will provide you with a late-afternoon catered BBQ on the grounds of Fort Phil Kearny). Each morning our hotel will provide you with a FREE continental breakfast. Lunch will also be provided for you on two of the tour days. If you have any special dietary requirements, please let us know, so that we can do our best to accommodate.
Do You Recommend Travel Insurance?
Insurance is always safe and recommended. But we will leave that decision entirely to you.
Does it Cost Any Money to Reserve a Spot on the Tour?
A deposit of at least half of the tour price is required to book your tour and hold your spot. The other half is required 60 days before the first day of the tour. If you cancel your booking at least 60 days before the first day of the tour, you will be refunded 100% of your deposit or your entire cost if paid in full. Please Note: There will be a $150 cancellation fee to pay for administrative costs.. Any cancellation inside of 60 days will require your spot being filled, before any refund is remitted. If your spot on the tour cannot be filled, Crazy Horse Tours will refund 50% of your payment.
Is the Deposit Refundable?

What Type of Bus Will be Used?
We use ground transportation from Karst Stage in Bozeman, Montana. which provides us a state of the art bus with DVD screens & air conditioning.
Can I Bring a Pet?
Sorry, but Crazy Horse Tours can not accommodate pets on the tour.
How Much Luggage Can I Bring?
Due to the size of our tour group, you are allowed one full suitcase (no more than 50lbs) and one small carry-on bag.
Can You Accommodate a Disabled Person?
We are very sorry, but for this particular tour, the motor coach available to us is not handicapped accessible. Again, we apologize.
